I'm honored to have been the illustrator for Sammy's Broken Leg and the Amazing Cast That Fixed It by the talented Judith Wolf Mandell. This charming and helpful picture book for children undergoing the trauma of life in a cast was a delight to illustrate. Vivacious Sammy, loosely based on the author's granddaughter, discovers how to cope with ups and downs in her cast. Accurate details of the ordeal — from The Rules of her cast to the removal process — explain matters to kids in an entertaining manner. And, of course, my bright colors will keep them cheered up!
